Before achieving goals in the learning process, it is necessary to have social
interaction between teachers and students, students and students, only then can
achieve good learning goals. However, in reality the ability of students' social
interaction in learning science content in Class V Al-Karim is still low. This is
because some students are less able to interact properly during the learning
process, both with friends or with the teacher. Students also lack the courage to
ask and answer questions posed by the teacher. As well as some students are
unable to understand the material explained by the teacher, they are also not able
to work on a problem in accordance with the learning objectives, and students are
also afraid and shy when asked to present the results of their answers. So that
some students are less able to carry out social interactions properly in teaching
and learning as they should. The group work discussion method is a solution to
intermediary students in increasing student social interaction in science content
subjects at SD Integral Hidayatullah Muaro Jambi. This study uses classroom
action research (CAR) with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart models. The purpose of
this research is to increase students' social interaction skills. The results of the
classroom action research that has been done show that there is an increase in
students' social interaction abilities. Obtained by the percentage of each cycle. In
the pre-cycle of students who were successful only 6 students (33%). Then
continued the first cycle of students who succeeded only 10 students (55%). Then
after carrying out the actions of cycle I, it was continued in cycle II which
succeeded in increasing to 16 students (88%)
