Abstract

"This thesis is based on the problem of the Al-Qur'an Hadith Teacher's Efforts to
Improve the Ability to Read the Al-Qur'an at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8
Bungo. Where there are still students who are not fluent in reading the Al-Qur'an
so it can become an obstacle in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith. Therefore, researchers
tried to look at the efforts made by Al-Qur'an Hadith teachers in improving students'
Al-Qur'an reading skills. The focus of this research is how the Al-Qur'an Hadith
teacher's efforts to improve the Al-Qur'an reading ability of class VIII C students at
Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8 Bungo? This research is descriptive in nature using
qualitative research methods. The subjects of this research include the school
principal, Al-Qur'an Hadith teacher and class VIII C students. Data collection
techniques in this research include observation, interviews and documentation.
Data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data presentation and
verification. The results of the research show that there are: (1) The ability to read
the Al-Qur'an at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8 Bungo, there are around 13
students who are not yet fluent in reading the Al-Qur'an or are still stumbling in
spelling the letters of the Al-Qur'an. (2) The Al-Qur'an Hadith teacher's efforts to
improve the ability to read the Al-Qur'an by familiarizing students with reading the
Al-Qur'an before learning begins, grouping students based on the students' ability
to read the Al-Qur'an, selecting and developing learning methods and practicing
memorization of the Al-Qur'an and special Iqra' learning. (3) Supporting and
inhibiting factors for Al-Qur'an Hadith teachers in improving the ability to read the
Al-Qur'an, the existence of guidance programs with teachers, the existence of
facilities and infrastructure, the interest of students in learning to read the Al-
Qur'an, limited time, the lack of basic skills possessed by students and the lack of
support from parents."
