Title : The Correlation Among Reading Habit, Reading
Motivation, Reading Comprehension at XI Grade
of SMAN 8 Jambi City

This research purpose to determine whether there is a significant
relationship between reading habits, reading motivation, and reading
comprehension. This research uses quantitative with a correlation research
design. The population in this study were class XI students at SMAN 8 Jambi
City, consisting of 4 classes with a total of 144 students and stratified random
sampling was used in this research to determine the research sample. Data
was taken using questionnaires and reading tests. The results of this study
show that there is a relationship between reading habits and reading
comprehension. This is shown by the correlation coefficient between reading
habits and reading comprehension of 0.0185 <0.05, meaning that these
variables have a low correlation. This means that reading habit had correlation
to their reading comprehension in reading achievement. Then there is a
correlation between reading motivation and reading comprehension of 0.0155
< 0.05. This means that these variables have a correlation in the low category.
Then there is a positive correlation between the three variables of 1,000 and
the significant value between X1 and Y is 0.000 < 0.05 but in the low
category.
