Title : Personal Situation on Students’ Perception in
Taking English Course at Kampung Inggris Pare

This thesis discussed about the students’ perception in taking course at
Kampung Inggris Pare on their Personal Situation. This research used
descriptive qualitative approach by using qualitative design. Subject of the
research is 6 students eighth grade who have gone to Pare for one month.

Data collection method was done by doing an interview which was a semi-
structured interview, while for analyzing the data, researcher used thematic

analyis. The result of the findings showed that the students’ English skills
were positively influenced by taking english course in Kampung Inggris Pare.
This can be seen from the result that students felt more motivated, confident,
and comfortable to use English in the class and also their English scores have
remarkably increased after they joined English course in Pare.Another things
that influences students’ English skills is the environment and learning
strategies in Kampung Inggris Pare. Based on the result, it can be concluded
that taking English Course in Kampung Inggris is effective for students for
improving their English skills.
