Film is a form of literary work, film is not only a medium of entertainment
but film is also a means of education for its audience. Films are often used as
objects for their own interests which are exploited by a group of people. In this
research a title related to the film is raised, the research title is The Conspiracy
Against Captain Barbarossa As Seen in the Film Pirates On The Caribbean Dead
Men Tell No Tales. Conspiracy fiction is about appointing characters who are
reflected from real figures with the aim of propoganda and covering up the truth.
The aim of this research is to find out the conspiracy against Captain Barbarossa as
presented in the film. Personal and situational factors and anti-Islam factors are
used to accompany bad opinions about the character of Barbarossa. The researcher
used Descriptive Qualitative Research Methods As The Research Design. Data
Collection technique by repeatedly watching the film under study, and reading the
film script, the data source is from the film Pirates on The Caribbean Dead Men
Tell No Tales. Researchers use conspiracy theories and use a sociological approach
to formulate problem formulation. The results of this research found 11 data related
to personal factors, 7 data related to situational factors, and found 3 data regarding
the type of conspiracy, namely anti-Islam. These data present the character of
Barbarossa as arrogant, haughty, cruel, cowardly and a traitor.
