Title : The Effect Using Kahoot On Students’ Reading Skill at SMP Muara Ketalo, Tebo
This research aims to determine the effect of using Kahoot on students' reading skills.
This research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design and involved two
classes as research samples selected using cluster sampling techniques, namely class VIII A as
the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class, with each class consisting of 20
students. The data collection instrument used was a reading skills test which was carried out
before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the treatment. Students in the experimental class were
given assessments via Kahoot, while the control class used conventional assessments. The
results of this research show that the average post-test score was 83.50 higher than the pre-test
class of 65.00. Based on the results of the analysis carried out in the paired sample test, the
results were obtained that the sig (2-tailed) value is greater than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), so that
(Hα1) and (Hο1) are rejected. This means there is a significant effect on student learning
outcomes after and before using the Kahoot game. Test results The independent sample T-test
shows the sig (2-tailed) value is lower than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), and the t-test value shows it is
higher than the t-table value (5.218 > 1.669) with degrees of freedom (df) = 65, then (Hα2) is
accepted and (Hο2) rejected. This shows that there is a significant effect between students who
learn by using Kahoot Game with students who did not use Kahoot Games.
