Humor is one of the ways that people used to release their stress. It happens
because the primary aim of humor is to amuse people and to provoke laughter.
This research is motivate the writer is very interested in discussing about the
humor style as seen in Cruella movie. The purpose of this research are : (1) To
explain the types of the humor style as seen in Cruella movie, and (2) To explain
the functions of the humor style as seen in Cruella movie. The writer uses two
theories to analyze this research. The theory from Rod Martin and theory from
Attardo. There are lots of scenes in this Cruella movie that show various types of
humor styles shown by the characters in it. So, it is the reason and the motivation
of the writer to analyze this research. The formulation of the research are : (1)
What the types are the humor style as seen in Cruella movie, and (2) What the
functions are the humor style as seen in Cruella movie. Design of this research
was qualitative descriptive research. In collecting the data, the writer used
technique of documentation. The technique used in analyzing the data in this
study was a descriptive technique. The results of this research are: 1) There are
three types of the humor style as seen in Cruella movie, they are : Affiliative,
Aggressive, Self- enhance and Self- defeating. On the other hand, (2) The
functions of the humor style as seen in Cruella movie there are three functions,
they are : Social management, Decommitment and Mediation.
