Title : The Effect of English Grammar & Test Application in
Teaching Grammar at Eighth Grade of MTs Nurul Falah Jambi
This research aimed to investigate the effect of the English Grammar & Test
application on students' grammar mastery, particularly in learning simple past tense
and past continuous tense. The study was conducted at MTs Nurul Falah Jambi with
eighth-grade students using a quantitative method and quasi-experimental design. The
sample consisted of 40 students divided into two groups: an experimental group that
used the application and a control group that received conventional teaching. The
research instrument was a grammar test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions.

Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 23, including normality, homogeneity, and t-
tests. The results showed that the experimental class achieved significantly higher post-
test scores compared to the control class. The mean score of the experimental group

increased from 44.25 to 83.25, while the control group improved from 42.75 to 75.00.
The paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test revealed a significant difference
between pre-test and post-test results (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the use of
the English Grammar & Test application is effective in enhancing students' grammar
mastery. The interactive and flexible features of the application helped improve
students' understanding and engagement in learning grammar. Therefore, integrating
digital learning tools in grammar instruction can be a beneficial strategy to support
student learning outcomes.
