Title :The Correlation Among Student`s Reading
Interest, Reading Habit, And Their Reading
Comprehension.
This study aims to investigate the correlation among students’ reading interest,
reading habit, and reading comprehension of fourth-semester students in the English
Language Education Study Program. A quantitative method with Spearman’s rho
correlation analysis was employed. The findings reveal that there is a significant positive
correlation between students’ reading interest and their reading comprehension, with a
correlation coefficient of 0.474 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.01).
Furthermore, students’ reading habit also shows a significant positive correlation with
reading comprehension, with a correlation coefficient of 0.533 and a significance value
of 0.000 (p < 0.01). In addition, reading interest and reading habit are positively
correlated with each other (r = 0.460) and together contribute to the improvement of
students’ reading comprehension. These results indicate that both reading interest and
reading habit play an essential role in enhancing students’ reading comprehension,
emphasizing the importance of fostering these two factors in academic learning and
daily reading activities.
