Title : Students perception of the use of Elsa speak application
in improving speaking skill at English education study
program.
This study used a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques
through interviews. The research participants were 5 students from 4
th semester the
English Education Study Program who had used the Elsa Speak application in their
learning activities. The data obtained were analyzed through the stages of
reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show
that students have a positive perception of the use of Elsa Speak in improving their
speaking skills, namely: (1) pronunciation, through the direct feedback and
correction features, (2) fluency, through interactive speaking exercises, and (3)
vocabulary, by introducing new relevant words and phrases. However, there are
also negative perceptions regarding several obstacles, such as limited access to free
features, dependence on a stable internet connection, and the app's focus on
American accents.
