Case Study at MA Nurul Iman Ulu Gedong
Jambi City

The objective of the research is to investigate the students perception on teachers
use of Bahasa Indonesia in the teaching English at MA Nurul Iman Ulu Gedong
Kota Jambi. This research was conducted at MA Nurul Iman Ulu Gedong, Jambi
City with all twelfth grade students participating, totaling 38 students. The
researcher used a qualitative method with a case study design which was chosen
because the researcher wanted to dig deeper into the participants' answers based
on the phenomena that occurred. The data collection technique in this research is
interviews with 9 questions. The data analysis techniques in this research are data
reduction, data display and conclusions. Research findings show that the results of
participant interviews based on the affective and cognitive category show that the
majority of students give good perceptions about the use of Bahasa Indonesia in
teaching English. Understand conversations using English and students feel more
understanding in learning English.
