Nesa Aulia Pratiwi, 2025 : Construction Of Female Masculinity
Portrayed In The Princess Film (2022)

This research discussed the Female Masculinity in The Princess film
produced by Le-Van Kiet. That‟s why the researchers gave the title of this
study “Construction of Female Masculinity Portrayed in The Princess
Film”. Masculinity is not fixed, but the result of evolving social processes.
Masculine physical appearance and behavior are not biologically
determined, but rather a historical process that evolves with changing
times and social contexts. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to
explore the factors that cause the main female character to have
masculinity and describe how the female masculinity aspects portrayed in
The Princess film. In this research to find out the factors and aspects of
female masculinity, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative design
method. This research used psychology approach, gender from Judith
Butler, and female masculinity from Peter Lehman. In collecting data,
researcher use techniques documentation. The technique used in analyzing
the data in this study is descriptive technique. The results of this study are
there are three factors that causes of female masculinity that portarayed in
The Princess film; cultural, social, personal factors. The aspects of Female
masculinity are Power, Courage, Heroism, Leadership.
