Title : The Readability Level of Reading Texts Book Entitled
Super Coach Pola Belajar Siswa Mandiri for Senior High
School by Wahyuni Markotim

The study aims to analyze the readability level of reading texts book entitled
Super Coach Pola Belajar Siswa Mandiri for Senior High School by Wahyuni
Markotim at the state Senior High School 3 Muaro Jambi. The research method used
is qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this research were
observation and interview. The researcher used Taylor and Klare’s theory. The
subject of this research was students. The finding of this study showed that there
are seven texts have the cloze procedure score over 60% and one text under 60%.
They are Powerful typhoon kills 80%, Rubella kills baby in Jambi 89%, The Bekasi
River 80%, Number of Foreign 89%, The Indonesian Men’s Sepak 75%, 17 Million
Foreign Tourists Target 70%, Indonesian Weekend 80% and Miss England
Contestant in Hijab 50%. After so the judgment score is in the Independent level
and Instructional level. The texts are predicted to be quite easy; it means that the
students are likely to be able to cope with the text alone. The researcher gets the
average score of 8 reading texts is 73,6% so it can be concluded that reading texts
of Super Coach Pola Belajar Siswa Mandiri are in the Independent level because
the reading texts are readable and understandable to the ninth grade students, and
the texts are predicted to be quite easy. Therefore, the researcher takes a conclusion
that this textbook is not appropriate to be used by the students at the ninth grade
students because they can read them by their own.
