easier for researchers to answer these problems, this research used qualitative
method, for data collections used documentation technique, the data analysis
technique for this research is descriptive technique. Research results (1) of the 24
maxim violation data analyzed, there were 11 violations of the maxim of
Quantity, 4 violations of the maxim of Quality, 4 violations of the maxim of
Relevance, and 5 violations of the maxim of Manner. (2) These violations are
often used as a linguistic strategy to create humor and maintain the flow of
conversation. The reason maxim violations are carried out intentionally by
presenters and speakers is to attract the audience's attention, convey hidden
