This study examines the class struggle in film Snowpiercer. Class
struggle refers to the political tension and economic antagonism that exist
among the social classes of society, because of socioeconomic competition
for resources among the social classes, between the upper class and the
lower class. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the factors that
cause the class struggle and what are the impact of the class struggle shown
in the film Snowpiercer. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative.
The researchers applies theory of Class Struggle by Karl Marx and a
sociological approach in this study. The data source of this research is the
script of Snowpiercer film. In collecting data, the researcher uses
documentation techniques. The technique used in analyzing the data in this
study is a descriptive technique. The results of this study are 1.) The factors
that cause class struggle is ownership of the means production, exploitation
and social inequality 2.) The impact of class struggle is revolution and
overthrow capitalist system and social equality.
