Title : The Effect of using Spotify: Georgiana Speak
English Podcast on Students‘ Listening Skill at
Madrasah Aliyah Pkp Al-Hidayah Jambi
The Research aims to find out data that can determine whether there is a
significant effect and Significant different of using the Spotify of Georgiana
Speak English podcast in improving students' listening skills at Madrasah Aliyah
Pkp Al-Hidayah Jambi. This research is Quantitative Research using Quasi-
Experimental as the research design and Pretest-Posttest as Research Instruments.
The samples in this research were 22 students in class XI 4 as the experimental
class and 22 students in class XI 5 as the control class. The Sampling technique
used purposive sampling based on certain criteria. In this Research, the researcher
obtained data from the results of the students' Pre-test and Post-test which were
calculated and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics V 25. The calculation results
stated that the average value of the Post-test > Pre-test in the Experiment class, the
results of the paired sample T-test is accepted and is rejected. It can be
concluded that the Spotify: Georgiana Speak Emglish podcast has had a
significant effect on students' listening skills. In addition, the results of the
research were also measured using the Independent Sample T-test to find out data
there is significant differences. Means is accepted and is rejected. Thus,
it can be concluded that Podcasts on the Spotify application can improve students'
listening skills.
