Title : The Effect Of language learning imitation strategy to
increase speaking skill of the Tenth grade students at
Man 1 Sarolangun

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of the imitation strategy
in enhancing speaking fluency among tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Sarolangun.

The study employed a quantitative research design with a pre-experimental one-
group pretest-posttest design. The research used imitation techniques through

YouTube videos to improve students' pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary,
comprehension, and fluency. The results showed significant improvements in
students' speaking skills after the intervention. The average post-test scores for
pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency were higher than
the pre-test scores. The paired sample t-test revealed that the p-values were less than
0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results.
This suggests that the imitation strategy effectively enhances students' speaking
fluency. The findings support the hypothesis that imitation strategies significantly
improve English learning outcomes, particularly in pronunciation, grammar,
vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. The study concludes that incorporating
imitation techniques into language learning can significantly enhance students'
speaking skills and create a more engaging and interactive classroom environment.
