Abstract

This study aimes to describe and analyze the effect of leadership
effectiveness, madrasah climate, and social competence, both directly
and indirectly to teacher achievement motivation of state Madrasah
Aliyah in Jambi Province. This study uses a quantitative approach with a
survey desaign. The sampling method used in this study is pusposive
random sampling with 1074 population and 119 people as samples.
Data was collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale.
The results of the analysis show that there are: 1) Direct influence of
leadership effectiveness to achievement motivation with a path coefficient
of 0,499; 2) Direct influence of madrasah climate to achievement
motivation with a path coefficient of 0,367; 3) Direct influence of
leadership effectiveness and madrasah climate to achievement motivation
with a path coefficient of 0,678; 4) Direct influence of leadership
effectiveness to social competence with a path coefficient of 0,222; 5)
Direct influence of madrasah climate to achievement motivation with a
path coefficient of 0,551; 6) Direct influence of leadership effectiveness
and madrasah climate to social competence with a path coefficient of
0,550; 7) Direct influence of social competence to achievement motivation
with a path coefficient of 0.406; 8) Direct influence of leadership
effectiveness, madrasah climate and social competence to achievement
motivation with a path coefficient of 0,718; 9) Direct influence of
leadership effectiveness to achievement motivation through social
competence with a path coefficient of 0,163; 10) Direct influence of
madrasah climate to achievement motivation through social competence
with a path coefficient of 0,404.
The conclusion of this study is that the leadership effectiveness,
madrasah climate and social competence both directly and indirectly effect
the achievement motivation of state madrasah aliyah students in Jambi
province. The implication is that the better the leadership effectiveness,
madrasah climate, and social competence, the more teachers‟
achievement motivation will be.
