This thesis investigated pre-service English teachers' perceptions on the
use of applications in designing instructional media. This research employed a
quantitative method in the form of survey design. Data collection was carried out

by distributing a questionnaire via Google Form. The participants were 44 pre-
service teachers who had completed the microteaching course in the 6th semester

of English Education Study Program. The questionnaire used in this research
consisted of 23 items, which included 9 statements about attitude, 9 statements
about usage in the classroom, and 5 statements about the beliefs of pre-service
teachers.
The findings revealed an average score 4,1 with the category very positive
perception among pre-service teachers towards using applications, noting their
importance in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and overall teaching
effectiveness. Specifically, the average scores indicated that participants strongly
agree with the benefits of applications in promoting interactive learning and
facilitating effective communication in the classroom. The results suggested that
continuous training and support are necessary to effectively prepare these future
educators to harness applications in their teaching practices. The study concluded
with recommendations for educational institutions to prioritize digital literacy

training in teacher education programs, ensuring that pre-service teachers are well-
equipped to meet the demands of modern educational contexts.
