Title : The Effect Of Using Animation Video As A Learning
Media For Writing Narrative Text At 9th Grade Of
MTs Asas Islamiyah Jambi City

This research investigates the effect of using animation video media on the
narrative writing skills of Class 9th students at MTS Asas Islamiyah Jambi City.
The research employed a one-group pre-test/post-test design to assess students'
writing performance before and after the intervention. The findings demonstrate a
significant effect in students' writing abilities, particularly in organizing ideas,
grammar, vocabulary, and narrative structure. The pre-test results indicated that
most students fell into the "Fair" category, with only a few achieving "Good" or
"Excellent" scores. After the implementation of animation video media, there was
a notable effect, with 50% of students reaching the "Good" level and 15%
attaining the "Excellent" category. These findings suggest that animation video
media enhances students' understanding of narrative structures, including
orientation, complication, and resolution coda, while also increasing engagement
and motivation in learning. Statistical analysis further supports these findings,
with a paired sample t-test showing a significant difference between pre-test and
post-test scores (t-count = 3.673, p-value = 0.002). The results confirm that the
effect in students' writing skills was not due to chance but was significantly effect
by the intervention. The research contributes to existing research by highlighting
the effects of multimedia-based learning in effect students' narrative writing skills.
Based on these results, animation video media is recommended as an effective
learning tool because it effect student writing skill. Future research should explore
additional strategies, such as personalized feedback and extended practice
sessions, to support students who continue to face difficulties in writing.
