Title : The Effect of Using Line Webtoon on Students' Reading Comprehension
at MTsN 1 Batang Hari
This research was conducted to determine whether there was a significant
effect of using line webtoon as a learning medium on the reading
comprehension of recount text among class VIII students at MTsN 1 Batang
Hari. The research was quantitative and employed a quasi-experimental
design. The subjects of this research were 48 students, the researcher used a

purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the T-
test. The results of the research indicated a significant effect of using line

webtoons as a learning medium on reading comprehension. This was proven
by the average pre-test score of students in the experimental class (49.00)

and post-test (74.40). Hypothesis testing was performed on paired sample t-
test with df 24 = 1.71, compared with the t-count and t-table (15.824>1.710).

In the independent t-test, a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.00 which was lower than

0.05, with df 46 (3.940 > 1.678). The t-table analysis revealed that the t-
count bigger than t-table. It was leading to the rejection of H0 (null

hypothesis) and the acceptance of Ha (alternative hypothesis). In finding
show a significant influence of the use of line webtoon media on reading
comprehension in class VIII MTsN 1 Batang Hari.
