Title : The Students‘ Attitude Toward English Language At Junior

High School 19 Muaro Jambi

This reaserch aims at portraying the students‘ attitude toward English, and the
real actions in their daily life. The data source was students of representative from all
grades at Junior High School 19 Muaro Jambi in academic year 2023/2024 class VII,
VIII, IX.
The method used in this research was field research using observation and
interview techniques. Observations have been carried out in class activities and
interwiews have been given to students. After collecting data and analyzing them
using qualitative method, the researcher found that students‘ attitude toward english
language at junior high school 19 Muaro Jambi is negative. Some actions showing
their attitudes; the students always followed the teacher language when they were
doing communication and activities in the classroom. However, they did not use
English during communication and activities. The students of Junior High School 19
Muaro Jambi in academic year 2023/2024 class VII, VIII, IX were unable to maintain
using English all the time students classroom session.
