Title : The Correlation Among Students’ Reading Self-Efficacy,
Students Reading Interest and Students’ Reading
comprehension at MTs. An- Nizham Kota Jambi

This research purpose to analyze (1) the correlation between student self-efficacy
and student reading comprehension (2) the correlation between student reading
interest and student reading comprehension (3) the correlation between student
self-efficacy, reading interest and student reading comprehension in the eighth
and ninth grades of MTs . An-Nizham Jambi City. This research used quantitative
with a correlation research design. The population of this research was 109
students. Using the purposive sampling method for sampling, the samples taken
were 84 students from grades 8 and 9. The data collection techniques used were
questionnaires and reading tests. The research results show that r- (0.623) is higher
than r-table (0.223). Then, the significance level (Sig.2-tailed) is 0.000. This
means that p (0.000) is smaller than 0.05.Thus, there is a significant correlation
between self-efficacy and students' reading comprehension. Then, The correlation
results show that r- (0.512) is higher than r-table (0.223). Then, the significance
level (Sig.2-tailed) is 0.000. This means that p (0.000) is smaller than 0.05. Thus,
there is a correlation between students' reading interest and reading
comprehension. Finally, the correlation value between student self-efficacy,
student interest in reading, and student reading comprehension is r= 0.418.Then,
calculations show that the significance value of all variables is <0.05, this shows
that there is a positive correlation between student self-efficacy, student reading
interest and student reading comprehension. In other words, the higher the
student's self-efficacy and interest in reading, the higher the student's reading
comprehension. So, maintaining and getting used to reading skills with positive
thinking and building increased interest in reading has a big influence on the level
of reading comprehension

Key word : Correlation, Self-efficacy, Interest and Reading Comprehension.
