Title : Students’ Challenges in Listening Class at English Education Study Program
This study aims to identify the challenges experienced by fourth-semester students of the English Education Study Program at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi in mastering listening skills. Listening skills are complex receptive abilities because they involve attention, interpretation, and memory. This study used a purposive sampling method with data collection techniques through interviews with five students. The results of the study indicate that students experience various challenges in academic listening, such as linguistic challenges (lack of vocabulary, accent, and analysis of main ideas) and psychological challenges (lack of concentration and motivation).
